Introduction
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for the Cybersecurity and Networking Program is a strategic body composed of industry professionals, educators, government representatives, and community stakeholders. This committee serves as a vital bridge between the academic program and the rapidly evolving fields of cybersecurity and network technology. By fostering collaboration between educational institutions and industry leaders, the TAC ensures the program remains aligned with workforce demands, technological trends, and best practices.
Purpose
The primary purpose of the TAC is to provide guidance, insight, and recommendations to support the continuous improvement of the Cybersecurity and Networking Program. The committee’s key objectives include:
  • Curriculum Alignment: Evaluate and advise on curriculum content to ensure alignment with current industry standards, certifications, and employer expectations.
  • Industry Relevance: Identify emerging technologies, threat landscapes, and skill requirements to keep the program responsive to the cybersecurity and networking sectors.
  • Workforce Readiness: Promote practical, hands-on training opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, and simulated environments that prepare students for real-world roles.
  • Program Review: Offer input on program performance, graduate outcomes, and instructional resources to support academic excellence.
  • Partnership Development: Encourage collaboration between the institution and businesses, government agencies, and professional organizations to support student success and employment pipelines.
Through regular meetings and active collaboration, the TAC helps shape a dynamic and future-ready program that empowers students to enter the workforce with confidence and competence in defending and managing modern digital infrastructure.
