Department of Technical Services (DOTS)

The Department of Technical Services is responsible for keeping all of New England Tech’s IT services up and running. The department is divided into divisions to support Infrastructure, Desktop Technology and Data Architecture.

The CIO is responsible for strategy and operations for the administrative IT function for all of the college’s campuses, as well as the support the university’s academic technology infrastructure. The CIO also seeks to improve IT services to better support the school’s teaching mission, administrative operations, and services for prospective students, current students, faculty, and alumni. The CIO is also tasked with the development of the IT vision and leading the execution of an integrated information technology strategy that impacts all aspects of the college’s administrative and academic operations.

Network Infrastructure

The Infrastructure team is responsible for implementing, managing, and supporting NEIT’s technology infrastructure and services such as:

  • Network/Telecommunications
  • Wired/wireless network
  • Directory services
  • Storage
  • Servers
  • Backups

Desktop Technology

The Helpdesk team provides all users with assistance in computer-related or other technical issues such as:

  • Lab support
  • AV Support
  • Digital signage
  • Password resets
  • Network access on devices
  • Software and Hardware issues
  • Telephone issues

Data Architecture

Data Architecture supports, integrates, upgrades, analyzes, develops, and maintains student administrative data, using Ellucian Banner, while ensuring a high level of accuracy and efficiency.  They establish and maintain Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions for Ellucian’s Banner and related applications.  As the team supports Ellucian Banner and applications that the college uses for its day to day operations, they develop and maintain clear and complete documentation for new development and modifications to existing code.  Taking direction from management, they secure and maintain access to all information in Ellucian Banner and related systems. They support New England Tech staff and faculty, providing access to the information, developing and maintaining reports, and performing custom programming.  Lastly, they integrate various systems, whether located on-premise or remote.

Work Study Students

The work study students on our team are responsible for a myriad of important jobs, such as data compounding, school computer repair, password resets and much more.
